Melaye Fake Bishops: 'Desperation Power 1000' - Melaye Mocks APC

As more sentiments including bashing follow the controversial unveiling of the APC Vice Presidential candidate which had featured some allegedly fake bishops, the former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye has blasted the APC and while reacting to the attendance of the controversial bishops at the unveiling of Kashim Shettima, the presidential running mate of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Melaye had reiterated that the presence of the alleged bishops at Shettima’s unveiling had exposed APC’s desperation for power and corruption.

Recall that during the ceremony at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja on Wednesday, some unidentified persons robed in apparel peculiar to that of Christian clerics had attended the event to show support for the APC vice-presidential candidate.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), had criticised the APC, saying “artisans” were hired to act like clerics.

Reacting to the development, Melaye said Reverend Fathers don’t wear cassocks outside mass service.

In a tweet, Melaye wrote: “Reverend fathers do not wear cassocks outside mass service. Desperation raised to power 1000.”

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has disassociated itself from Wednesday’s unveiling of Kashim Shettima as the vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

National Public Relations Officer of CAN, Mr. Bayo Adedeji, made this known in a short message which was obtained by Africa Today News, New York after images of men said to be ‘pastors and bishops’ went viral on social media.

‘Let them name the CAN officials that attended the programme and their offices,’ he said. ‘If they could use 2017 photos to claim that some bishops visited Senator Shettima and lied that Pastor E. A. Adeboye had endorsed them, they could do anything.

‘Our position on Muslim-Muslim ticket is irreversible. Anybody can claim to be anything, but one thing is clear, CAN was not part of the unveiling programme of Shettima.’
