Peter Obi’s Running Mate, Datti Warns Youths Against BBNaija

Senator Yusuf Datti Ahmed who is the Vice President candidate of Labour Party, has openly called on his supporters and other youths in Nigeria to remain focused in their campaign as the popular reality show Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) premiers on Sunday.

Datti had also charged all the supporters of the Labour party who are known as Obidients not to be distracted with the TV reality show, Big Brother Naija season seven.

Peter Obi and his party are currently enjoying the massive support of youths on social media.

Meanwhile, Big Brother Naija season seven which has a larger number of youths as audience, commenced on Saturday. There are speculations that the show will take attention of the youths and they would consequently abandon the Peter Obi movement.

In a tweet by the Vice President candidate of LP on Saturday, he urged the supporters to remain focused.

He tweeted, “Dear #Obidients please don’t be distracted with the new season of the Tv show #BBNaija, we have a battle ahead of us.”

Datti has also asserted that the 2023 elections are about who is capable, not the other way round maintaining that religion and ethnicity will not play any roles in 2023.

Baba-Ahmed, who was unveiled as Obi’s running mate made this known when he spoke in an interview with BBC Hausa Service which was monitored by Africa Today News, New York on Saturday.

Datti Baba-Ahmed sent serious warnings to Nigerians not to make mistakes again by measuring candidates based on their religion or tribe stressing that the time for such is over.

He said, ‘For more than 60 years, religion and tribalism have eaten deep into Nigerian politics and this is what present administration used to win elections.
