War Three Killed As Russian Strikes Ravage Central Ukraine

No fewer than three people have been confirmed dead, including a Ukrainian serviceman after Russian missile strikes rained on railway infrastructure and a military airfield in central Ukraine.

“Nine Ukrainian servicemen were injured and one serviceman is dead. First, two guards of an electrical substation were killed,” Andriy Raikovych, the head of the Kirovograd region told Ukrainian media.

After a lull during which fighting was concentrated in the eastern Donbas region, which is now largely in Moscow’s control, Russian attacks on central Ukraine have resumed.

In a battle where military deaths have been zealously guarded by both sides, the announced toll from Saturday’s attacks was an extraordinary acknowledgement of precise military casualties from Ukraine.

Raikovych said earlier in a statement on social media that a barrage of 13 sea-launched Russian cruise missiles had struck outside the administrative centre of his Kirovograd region.

“Infrastructural facilities outside the regional centre were targeted, in particular, the military airfield Kanatove and a facility linked to Ukrainian Railways,” Raikovych said.

The city, Kropyvnytskyi, has an estimated population of 220,000 people and lies some 300 kilometres (186 miles) south of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.

Meanwhile, Mark Milley who is the United States Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has openly boasted that the Russian forces have not been able to eliminate any of the Western rocket artillery which had been donated to Ukraine.

This announcement is coming on the heels of the reaction to Russia’s claims that it had hit the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) near the front line of one of their battles.

According to him, Ukrainian forces are making good use of the HIMARS against the Russian side. He said that with the HIMARS, the Ukrainian troops are successfully hitting Russia’s logistical networks, field artillery, and other targets.
