'Most Lawmakers In Support Of Buhari’s Planned Impeachment'

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has finally gotten to administe the Oath of Office on three new Permanent Secretaries of the Federal Civil Service.

The Permanent Secretaries would also include Lydia Jafiya from Adamawa; Farouk Yabo from Sokoto and Udom Okokon Ekenam from Akwa Ibom.

The ceremony was performed at the Council Chambers of the presidential villa, Abuja before the commencement of the weekly virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; Head of the National Security Council (NSA), retired Gen. Babagana Monguno and the head of the Federal Civil Service, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan were all at the meeting.

The Ministers of Finance, Budget and National Planning; Information and Culture; Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Zainab Ahmed, Lai Mohammed and Muhammed Bello respectively, as well as the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami were also at the meeting.

In another report, Muhammadu Buhari has blamed banditry and terrorism in Nigeria on the political instability in Libya explaining that except something is done to arrest the situation in the North African country, things could just continue to worsen.

Buhari asserted that his administration was making frantic efforts towards tackling banditry and terrorism in Nigeria.

He spoke while receiving the letters of credence from the new Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador James Kingston Christoff, and Ambassador of Mexico to Nigeria, Juan Alfred Miranda Oritz, at the State House in Abuja, on Tuesday.

The President also called on the international communities to collaborate with Nigeria in tackling insecurity.

He disclosed that his administration had made meaningful progress in the fight against insecurity.
