Why I Always Criticise FG - Gov Ortom Explains

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has finally explained the reasons for his fortright criticism of the Federal Government of Nigeria and he noted that the criticisms were to make the government work better for the people and not to vilify the office of the President as being wrongly perceived in some quarters. 

He said “most of the policies of the Federal Government which I kick against are clearly anti-people, especially those that effect our people. And my criticisms are meant to make the government live up to its responsibilities to the people and not intended to vilify the President as being perceived by some persons.”

The Governor who had made this statement during a Thanksgiving Mass in honour of the Tor Sankera, HRH, Chief Abu King Shuluwa which had been held at the Catholic Youth Centre Church Makurdi, urged Christians especially those in Benue State not to relent in praying for their leaders at all levels for God’s grace to lead in the right direction.

The Governor  had also maintained that although he had the privilege to contribute financially to the medical trip of Tor Sankera abroad, his healing was mainly a result of the prayers of the people, which brought God’s intervention.

In a related development, Samuel Ortom of the Governor Benue State has continued in his string of verbal attacks on some of the terrorirsts in his State as he has again alleged that some of the Fulani herdsmen are actually operating in collaboration with terrorist groups to sustain their attacks on the state.

The governor had also made this allegation when he was hosted in an interview with Epoch Times TV in Washington, DC, United States of America, USA.

Ortom during the interview which had been anchored by Douglas Burton had also pointed out that from the information available to him, terrorists groups including the Boko Haram, ISIS, ISWAP and armed Fulani herdsmen are working for one agenda.

The governor had also emphasized and made it clear that some of the terrorists were the same group of people operating under different names and causing havoc across Nigeria.
