Mummified Corpses Edo Police Releases Details Of Probe

Fresh reports reaching the desk of Africa Today News, New York has revealed that the Katsina State Police Command has finally confirmed the reports of  the release of the 21 children who had been recently abducted by bandits on Sunday while they had been working on a farm in Mairuwa community, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The spokesman for Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah had disclosed this in a brief statement on Saturday night.

And according to him, the victims comprising 17 girls and four boys have since been reunited with their respective families as investigations continue.

“It is with great joy that I announce the release of all the 21 abducted workers that were kidnapped while working in a farmland at Kamfanin Mai Lafiya village, Faskari LGA of Katsina state. They have been reunited with their families. Investigation is ongoing please,” the statement said.

Earlier on Friday, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) had also in a statement which had been signed by its country’s representative, Ms Cristian Munduate, had challenged the federal government to ensure the release of the children without delay.

The children were abducted on Sunday by bandits who alleged that the community had failed to pay protection fees before embarking on harvesting their farm produce.

In another report, some of the Bandits in Zamfara State on Thursday attacked a police outpost in Magami community in Gusau, Zamfara capital, reportedly seizing the phones of police officers on duty.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that Magami is one of the conflict-ravaged communities in Zamfara State.

Over the last few months, several residents have fled the community as a result of incessant attacks by terrorists.

According to Abdul Balarabe, a local journalist who reports terror attacks in the state, the gunmen arrived in the community around 3:40 pm.

He disclosed that after collecting the phones, the terrorists shot into the air before they went back into the bush.
