Oil Theft I Will Name, Shame Oil Thieves, Atiku Vows

Atiku Abubakar who is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, has vowed to name and shame all the oil thieves in the country if Nigerians elect him their next President.

The former Vice President made this vow on Saturday when he interacted with the Business Dialogue Stakeholders Forum at the Eko hotel in Lagos.

Atiku, also said he would confiscate all oil blocs allocated to some Nigerians who have failed to make them operational.

‘If you are not going to develop oil blocs given to you, we will take it away and give it to those who will develop it. We will also assemble the names of those involved in oil theft, publish same and prosecute them,‘ Atiku told the stakeholders.

He also went on to reiterate his commitment to privatizing the refineries in Kaduna, Port Harcourt and Warri.

Atiku was at the event with his running mate and Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.

Both Governors Udom Emmanuel and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Akwa Ibom and Sokoto states; who are the Chairman and Director General of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign team, urged the stakeholders to support Atiku for a better Nigeria.

In another report, a Christain group coordinated by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Babachir Lawal, over the weekend announced that it had adopted the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, as its preferred candidate ahead of the 2023 general elections. 

In a statement that was made available to Africa Today News, New York, Lawal pointed out that the group comprising some northern Christian politicians settled for Obi following a painstaking review and analysis of the alternative presidential ticket holders.

Besides choosing Obi and his running mate, Mr. Ahmed Datti as their preferred choices, the group recommended LP candidates to Nigerians, saying they would ensure justice, equity, fairness, and unity in the country.
