According to reliable sources, Jerry Williams, a well-known Nollywood actor who recently received a suspension from the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has proactively checked himself into a rehab centre to confront his long-standing drug addiction.

Due to his connection with illicit substance abuse, the actor was suspended from acting by the actors’ body several weeks ago.

Mr. Emeka Rollas, the National President of AGN, declared Jerry’s suspension in an official statement, disclosing that the guild had been closely monitoring Jerry Williams since December of last year until his condition deteriorated beyond control.

Rollas also said that the guild took the decision to suspend Jerry Williams after noticing that he ‘is a risk not only to himself but also, other actors who might be acting alongside him on set.’

In an update provided by an insider, it has been confirmed that the actor is responding positively to the rehabilitation process and is currently doing well in the rehab facility.

Seeking confidentiality, a source shared that Jerry is presently immersed in intensive therapy within a private rehabilitation centre, noting the importance of prioritizing his health and the journey of recuperation.

The source lamented that despite the warnings from Jerry’s colleagues, imploring him to refrain from drug abuse, their efforts to dissuade him appeared to have been ineffective.
