Akpabio Appoints Kalu, Yari, Lawan, Tambuwal As Committee Heads
Senate President Godswill Akpabio

President Bola Tinubu‘s nominations for ministerial positions have been reviewed, with 45 out of the 48 candidates passing the Senate’s screening process.

As part of its session on Monday, August 7, the Senate ratified 45 nominations, conferring upon them the title of cabinet members.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio presided over a series of voice votes, during which the nominations of three nominees—former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Stella Okotete (Delta State), and Abubakar Danladi (Taraba State)—were held back for pending security clearance.

It took the red chamber over a week to announce the confirmation of the 28-member list submitted by President Tinubu on July 27.
