No Evidence Links Naira Marley To Mohbad's Passing – Counsel

The legal representative of Afeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, has contested allegations tying the Marlians record label owner to the passing of one-time signee Mohbad, also recognised as Ilerioluwa Aloba.

Mohbad’s passing on September 12, shrouded in uncertainty, has prompted a sequence of police inquiries and a coroner’s inquest.

Speaking in a video chat with Daddy Freeze, attorney Olalekan Ojo, representing Naira Marley, shed light on the viral video where Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, alias Sam Larry, seemed to confront Mohbad but was restrained by Zlatan, asserting that it had been misconstrued by the public.

Ojo said, ‘As for Naira Marley, I believe very strongly that no matter how hard you look, you will not find a single incident where Naira Marley bullied him.’

He said Larry, Mohbad, and Zlatan resolved their problem and ate ‘Amala together after the incident.’

Ojo further noted that there is a longer version of the video which showed the trio together.

He recalled, ‘Sometimes in June 2023, he (Sam Larry) came to Elegushi beach and heard some musicians were shooting a musical video, so he wanted to see who they were. Remember that in that video, he said so it’s even you.’

‘That video is a nine-second video and it will interest you to know that there is a longer version showing these guys eating Amala together after the incident,’ he noted.

Following his demise, the late singer was interred within a day. However, in light of the controversies involved, the Lagos State police became interested, resulting in the exhumation of Mohbad’s body for a post-mortem examination.

The police, in the course of their ongoing investigation, have identified three main suspects. These individuals are Naira Marley, the late singer’s boss, Sam Larry, and a nurse who administered an injection to the deceased.
