Tinubu Still Nursing ‘Knee Surgery’ – Nigerian Presidency
President Bola Tinubu

Mr Bayo Onanuga who is the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, has revealed that the president is still nursing the knee surgery he went through in London.

Recall that Tinubu in 2021 went for a knee surgery in London. This is before the commencement of the campaign for the general election.

While answering a question about the health of the President, Onanuga during an interview reporters said the President has no other ailment but is still nursing the knee surgery.

In his words, ‘No, he was not sick. We made this clear to Nigerians. Tinubu was as fit as the fiddle in the run-up to that election. Before that campaign began, I think a year before, he went for knee surgery, which was not a secret as President Buhari even went to see him in London when he was recuperating.’

‘So, that was what he went to do – knee surgery. That was why he could not walk properly.

‘When you do knee surgery, you cannot be walking like a 25-year-old man. He is still nursing it up till now because it was a major surgery. It is not that he has any other ailment.’ he said.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu is back in Abuja after a five-day official sojourn in Berlin, Germany, engaging in the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Conference.

Touching down at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around 8pm on Wednesday night, the President was received by key figures from the administration and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, APC national chairman Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

During his stay in Germany, President Tinubu actively participated in the G20 CwA Conference, collaborating with fellow Heads of State and Government, bilateral partners, and international organisation leaders to foster immediate enhancements in economic and business cooperation.

Concurrently, he engaged in the Fourth G20 Investment Summit, co-hosted by the German government and business associations.
