The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has sent a strong warning to the immediate past governor of Kogi, Yahaya Bello against acts capable of creating distraction for its national chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Barrister Felix Morka who is the National Publicity Secretary of the party, issued the warning on Tuesday while speaking with newsmen.
Morka was reacting to the sudden appearance of posters of the former Kogi state governor for office of national chairman of the party which has since flooded the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) Abuja.
Africa Today News, New York understands that speculation has been rife that certain chieftains of the party have been smarting for replacement of the former Kano State Governor with a chieftain of the party from the North Central geo-political zone which they noted was in line with the zoning arrangement in the APC.
Checks revealed that the former occupant of the exalted seat, Senator Abdullahi Adamu is from Nasarawa State from the North Central region.
Morka however maintained there was no vacancy for the office of national chairman.

He said: “There is no vacancy in the office of national chairman. Our Chairman is operating as the Chairman. So,there is no vacancy. We have also seen the posters of the former Governor but this is democracy, people do what they want but that office isn’t vacant. We want to warn those behind it to desist. That isn’t our focus for now.”
Morka also disclosed that at the NWC meeting held on Monday, the party expressed its concern over the failure of the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Gabriel Dewan, to swear in 16 lawmakers who are members of the APC in line with the judgment of the Court of Appeal.
“The NWC urges the Speaker to swear in the lawmakers without further delay. The Court of Appeal is the highest court in respect of petition matters for House of Assembly. The Court asked that 16 members of our party be sworn in. But the Speaker has defied the authority of the Court. He has no overriding power on the Court judgment. His discretion isn’t necessary he has a constitutional duty to perform. Anything other than that is unnecessary rascality. You cannot ignore the judgment of the court of law. As a party, we are urging the Speaker not to drag this matter further because there will be consequences for this.
Meanwhile, the former Governor has distanced himself from those making the moves to promote him as the national Chairman of the ruling party.
