FC Bayern Munich have confirmed that rising German international Jamal Musiala has signed a new contract extension which will keep him at the club until June 2030. The club, in an official statement, described the extension as a major step in locking down one of their brightest young talents.
In the announcement, Musiala expressed his happiness and faith in the club’s long-term project: “I’m really happy. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world… I feel at home both in Munich and at the club with our great fans.” Reports suggest his new deal places him among the club’s highest earners and includes a two-level release clause — one set at €175 million which becomes valid two years before contract expiry, and a second at €100 million in the final year.
The release clause figures suggest that Bayern remain mindful of potential interest from across Europe but also confident of their sporting project’s appeal. Some media commentary had speculated that the club might seek to remove release clauses entirely to exert greater control — however, those suggestions appear outdated given the actual deal’s reported clause structure.

Musiala’s original contract was set to expire earlier (reports said June 2026) but the extension confirms Bayern’s intention to build around him for many years. His decision to commit long-term comes amid interest from top clubs across Europe; nonetheless his public comments emphasise his focus on Bayern rather than any imminent transfer.
With this deal, Bayern eliminate any immediate contract uncertainty and reinforce their position in retaining elite young talent. For Musiala, the extension offers stability and the opportunity to continue developing within a familiar environment, while Bayern signal their ambition to remain a dominant force in both domestic and European football.
