US - 3-Yr-Old Girl Dies After Accidentally Shooting Self

A toddler died after suffering an apparent accidental “self-inflicted” gunshot wound, with police now investigating whether her parents are to blame.

Fayth Graham was rushed to Norton Children’s Hospital but died from injuries sustained at home in new Louisville, in New Albany, Indiana.

Officers had found the three-year-old around 2pm on Sunday.

Force spokesman Dwight Mitchell told WDRB it is unclear if the tot was alone when the incident occurred but said it is too early to say if charges will be filed.

It is unclear whether the girl’s parents will be charged in connection to the shooting, he said.

He added: “We’re still in the very early stages of the investigation, and really, at this point, that’s way down the line.

“Our main concern is to find out why this young child was in the state that she ultimately found herself in … Obviously we’ll continue the investigation; we’ll gather all that information, then we’ll consult down the line to see if charges would be appropriate in this case.”

The shooting is understood to have been “self-inflicted”.

In a post on Facebook, Fayth’s family asked for donations for her funeral as the toddler’s parents had no life insurance.

Currently, £143 of £1,644 has been raised.

The family paid tribute to the tragic toddler who they wrote “went home to our Heavenly Father in eternity”.

One person commented: “I’m so sorry for your family’s loss…She’s so precious in her picture. My deepest condolences to your entire family.”

Another said: “Oh my heart! I am so very sorry for you and the family’s loss.”
