COVID-19 - Over 111 Africans Test Positive In China
Over 111 Africans have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) in China.

According to Chinese newspaper, Xinhua News Agency, 111 Africans tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday in China’s southern city of Guangzhou.

Reacting to the development, the Executive Vice Mayor of Guangzhou, Chen Zhiying, confirmed to reporters that out of the 111 COVID-19 cases, 19 were imported.

“4,553 African people in the city had undergone nucleic acid testing since April 4,” Zhiying added.

COVID-19 originated in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

It has spread to over 145 countries and territories.

Since the outbreak last year, China has reported 82,249 Coronavirus cases, including 3,341 deaths and 77,663 recovered patients.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has since declared the virus a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
