Damaturu International Airport To Boost Nigerian Military’s Campaign
Yobe Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has said that the Damaturu International Airport is ready for test and will be made available to the Nigerian military.

Buni announced that the exercise will be carried out on May 29.

He spoke on Monday in Damaturu when he received the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Sadique Abubakar.

Buni assured that the Yobe government, “will provide Nigeria Air Force (NAF) quarters there as we have already promised”.

The governor noted that the airport would further help the Armed Forces as they tackle security challenges in the North-East.

“This is quite reassuring and a clear sign that the madness called insurgency is coming to an end very soon,” Buni added.

In his remarks, Abubakar said it will be “much easier for the Air Force to respond to any threats within Yobe rather than going to Maiduguri and coming back.”

The Air Chief expressed excitement that NAF “Can now operate from Damaturu which is very exciting for us indeed and to our comrades that are fighting on land as well”.
