Gunmen Invade Katsina Community, Kill 3, Injure Others

Some yet-to-be-identified Gunmen have killed three men and wounded three others at Gurbin Maganiya community in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Africa Today News, New York gathered that those who lost their lives were identified as Muntari Naqawuri, Surajo Salisu and Musa Hassan while Mustapha Salisu, Basiru Abubakar and Muhammed Rabiu were wounded.

A reliable source, who pleaded anonymity, told DAILY POST in the state that the unidentified gunmen arrived last Saturday in the community on motorcycles at about 10pm.

The hoodlums, it was learnt, would have overran the community but for the quick intervention of some security operatives.

When contacted, however, the state spokesman of the Katsina State Police Command, Gambo Isah, could not pick his call for confirmation as at the time of filing this report.

In a related development, Bandits attacked two villages in the Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State, yesterday where left at least 56 people dead with several others sustaining various degrees of injuries.

A resident of the area, Samaila Mohammed, who confirmed the development to newsmen on Sunday stated that the bandits, who were on motorcycles and carrying sophisticated weapons, invaded Sabon-garin Damri and Kalahe villages on Friday, opening fire on everyone on sight.

Mohammed narrated, ‘The bandits, who were riding over 100 motorcycles with each motorcycle carrying three persons, attacked our village Sabon-garin Damri immediately after the Friday prayers and started shooting sporadically, killing many people.’

He also disclosed that the bandits also moved to Kalahe village where they launched another attack, killing many people.

According to him, 56 dead bodies were recovered from Sabon-garin Damri and Kalahe villages on Saturday after the attack.

‘We have counted 56 dead bodies today (Saturday) and there are several others who sustained severe injuries.’

Mohammed further added that the bandits also carted away foodstuffs and many domestic animals.
