Apostle Johnson Suleman

Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministry has revealed that some Nigerian youths are actually looters in training while decrying the spate of money politics in the just concluded Ekiti State Gubernatorial elections.

Apostle Suleman had made this statement while he was reacting to a viral video of some youths in Ekiti State who were openly celebrating after they sold their votes during the state governorship election on Saturday.

The cleric had reiterated that not all youths are leaders of tomorrow as their activities do not in any way show their readiness to be real leaders.

Recall that there were several reports of massive vote-buying and selling during the just concluded governorship election in Ekiti State.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had reportedly arrested an APC agent over his plan to buy the votes of electorates during the election.

He was arrested with a bag of cash while trying to induce voters. Reacting, Suleman said it is obvious such persons are not ready to make Nigeria better.

He wrote: “So in the just concluded Ekiti State election, some youths were selling their votes?.

”I have always said it, not all youths are leaders of tomorrow, some are looters in training.”

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has also mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prosecute all those who were arrested on allegations of vote-buying in the course of the Ekiti State governorship election.

SERAP in a short tweet which was sighted by Africa Daily News, New York on Sunday morning stated that the prosecution must not end with those caught in the act, but must be extended to the politicians who fund their election malpractice.

The group’s reaction comes on the heels of the reports of vote-buyers being arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) during the polls.
