Deborah CAN Directs All Churches To Stage Nationwide Protest

In lieu of the recent attack in Bauchi State, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has frowned at the recent attempt which had been on the life of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Bauchi state Governor on Christian Religious Affairs, Pastor Zakka Magaji by some yet to be identified gunmen.

Reverend Dr Abraham Damina Dimeus who is the Chairman of CAN in Bauchi State had frowned at and condemned the attack when he had led some of the officials of the association on a sympathy visit to the house of the governor’s aide in Birshi, on Friday.

Dimeus had also disclosed that the attack whose motive was not known was unfortunate adding that people should know that life is sacred and must be protected at all cost.

The CAN Chairman, who thanked God that no life was lost during the attack, stressed the need for security to be beefed up in the country. He had also appealed to security authorities to as a matter of urgency step up security measures especially around areas that are prone to attacks by bandits.

In another report, some Gunmen suspected of being bandits yesterday attacked the Alkaleri Local Government Area in Bauchi state, killing four persons. Three more people were left injured.

Senator Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, is from Alkaleri LGA, Africa Today News in New York. can confirm.

An alarm was sounded when suspected bandits raided Tudun Wadan Jada, formerly known as Jimari Jauro-Bano, to abduct civilians, according to local sources including vigilantes.

The young people from the area and adjacent villages reportedly mobilised instantly and fought back, preventing them fromzooming off with the abducted people.

However, when the suspected bandits realized their mission had failed, they opened fire on the enormous number of teenagers who fought them, killing a considerable number of them.
