Queen’s Coffin Buiried In Royal Vault Of St George’s Chapel

The final burial rites have seen the Queen’s coffin being lowered into the Royal Vault of St George’s Chapel on Monday as some of the final rites have been performed.

The Dean of Windsor recited Psalm 103, as the coffin was lowered on Monday evening.

The Psalm includes the traditional line: “Go forth upon thy journey from this world, O Christian soul.’’

He also offered the commendation a prayer in which the deceased is entrusted to God’s mercy.

The service ended with the Sovereign Piper playing the lament “A Salute to the Royal Fendersmith’’ from the doorway between the chapel and the dean’s cloister, with the music gradually fading away as he walked towards the deanery.

The Archbishop of Canterbury then concluded the service with a blessing before the congregation sang the national anthem.

More reports reaching the desk of Africa Today News, New York has it that King Charles III has denied the request of the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

It was gathered that Mnangagwa had in a condolence letter earlier to the king pleaded that he be allowed to attend the funeral of the Queen despite not being included in the list of world leaders that had been invited to the funeral by Buckingham Palace.

However, the King, in a statement by the deputy to the Senior Correspondence Officer, Miss Jennie Vine, which was sighted by Africa Today News, New York stated that the Zimbabwean President’s request was denied over reports of violation of human rights in his country.
