Insecurity Gunmen Invade Church In Benue, Abduct Cook

Rev. Akpen Leva who is the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Benue State Chapter has on Saturday, reminded the Benue state residents that the menace of the killer herdsmen have not stopped in their unprovoked attacks on the people of the state.

It has also been reported that the suspected terrorists had on Thursday last week, killed 15 people in the Logo Local Government Area of the state.

Reacting in a statement on Saturday, Akpen Leva who had also spoken through his Director of Media, Samuel Tyav, had warned some of the residents in the state not to sleep with their two eyes closed since dare devil terrorists are not ready to give them a breathing space.

He had also revealed that this is not the time for the people to sleep with both eyes closed as most of the armed herdsmen terrorists have not stopped their unprovoked attacks on people of the state. He had also added that there is simply a calculated attempt aimed at killing the defenseless people of the communities.

He finally urged the people of the state to look for legitimate means of protecting and defending themselves under such circumstances and while condemning the unprovoked attacks and loss of lives in the affected communities, he admonished security operatives to rise up and arrest the bloodthirsty herdsmen to face the full wrath of the law.

He commended Governor Samuel Ortom for his prompt response to the attacks and urged him to remain focused on the security of the lives and property of his people, just as he commiserated with the Vice President of the NKST church, Rev. Asongo Adure and the pastors of NKST Mchia and Mou as well as the other families of the victims

Rev. Leva  had also called out to all Christians in Benue state to rededicate themselves to prayers as a deliberate way of seeking the face of God for his divine intervention and for the insecurity in the state and country at large.
