NECO Releases New Timetable, Resumes SSCE Monday

The stakeholders of the National Examinations Council, NECO have finally announced the release of all the results of the general 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination, SSCE, internal.

It can also be recalled that the educational board had conducted the examination nationwide at exactly 45 days ago

While he had been announcing the results, in Minna, Niger State, on Thursday, Prof Dantani Wushishi who is the Registrar of NECO had also revealed that the 2022 exercise had been adjudged to be credible by stakeholders.

Wushishi had also noted that up to 1,209,703 candidates who had registered for the examination had been represented by 636,327 male, representing 52.60 per cent and 573,376 female, representing 47.39 per cent.

The NECO boss, however, said only 1,198,412 candidates actually sat for the examination with 630,180 male, representing 52.58 per cent and 568,232 female, representing 47.41 per cent.

“Number of candidates with Special Needs is 1,031, with the breakdown as follows: 98 with albinism, 177 with autism, 574 with hearing impairment, and 107, visually impaired.

“Number of candidates who made Credit and above in English Language is 889,188 representing 74.89%.

“Number of candidates who made Credit and above in Mathematics is 929,140 representing 78.23%, as shown in Table 2.

In a related report, the National Examinations Council (NECO) which is an examination board in Nigeria has revealed that five states in the country are yet to remit their examination fees of their candidates which is worth over ₦2 billion, spanning from 2012 to date.

Prof Dantani Wushishi who is the Registrar of NECO had made this revalation in an interview with newsmen on Friday, in Lagos.

He was in the state to monitor the ongoing 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) organized by the council.

Wushishi said; “We are using this opportunity to appeal with the five states that are yet to remit examination fees of their candidates, spanning from 2012 to date, to help us and do the needful.

“However, because of the relationship we have with these states, some of them have started responding, while others are yet to make any attempt.”

He said that NECO was following up, to let them understand that it was important to keep the council afloat by remitting their monies.
