2023 Campaigns Tinubu Offers Sensitive Appointment To Gov Buni

Following the commencement of campaigns, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the appointment of Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, as the adviser on Party Integration and Reconciliation of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

In a letter of appointment personally signed by Tinubu which was obtained by Africa Today News, New York, it said that the appointment was based on Buni’s impressive political achievement and the exemplary leadership he demonstrated as Governor of Yobe State and as a party member.

He went on to add that the appointment will ensure victory for the APC in the February 2023 election and move Nigeria along the path of national greatness by building on the achievements of the party and the President Muhammadu Buhari administration in providing good progressive governance to Nigerians.

Part of the letter read: ‘By way of this letter, we are pleased to formally convey your appointment as the Adviser on Party Integration & Reconciliation of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council

‘This appointment is fitting and appropriate given your impressive political achievement and the exemplary leadership you have demonstrated as governor of your state and as a party member.

‘We are grateful that you have joined our campaign team. We know you will do your utmost in this new responsibility so we conduct an effective, message-driven campaign leading us to victory in the 2023 presidential election.’

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign, Dino Melaye, has asserted that the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu’s absence from the Presidential Peace Accord signing ceremony on Thursday was done on purpose.

Africa Today News, New York had earlier reported that while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and other party candidates were physically present at the event which took place in Abuja on Thursday, Tinubu was represented by his running mate and former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima.

In the face of the speculations that the APC candidate may be battling some health crisis, reports emerged on Thursday that he is currently in London, United Kingdom.
