Obasanjo’s Face Should Be On Naira Note – Atiku Charges CBN

While extolling his former principal, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has openly charged the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to make sure that they put the former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s image on some of the redesigned naira notes.

Atiku had also revealed that Obasanjo’s face should be on the naira note due to some of his efforts in making Nigeria a better place during his tenure.

The PDP presidential candidate had also quoted that having Obasanjo’s face in the naira would inspire future generations of Nigerians to sacrifice for the country.

In a tweet, Atiku wrote: “Africa is blessed to have a statesman of such impeccable democratic credentials as Chief Obasanjo. A man whose image ought to be in the redesigned naira note to inspire future generations of Nigerians to sacrifice for their nation and continent.”

Recently, the apex bank governor, Godwin Emefiele, announced the redesigning of N100, N200, N500, and N1000 notes and the CBN boss had revealed that the new notes would be released on December 5, 2022.

In another report, the Nigerian Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has also described the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar as a traitor.

It has also been revealed that the Director of Special Media Projects and New Media Tinubu/Shettima PCC, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode had made this revealation in a statement which he had issued on Thursday while he had been reacting to the statement credited to the spokesperson of the PDP Presidential Campaign Management Committee, Senator Dino Melaye.

Melaye had in a statement described the APC Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima as a “grand commander of bandits”. He had also alleged that Shettima was aiming at getting to establish another office for the Boko Haram terrorists at the presidential villa if the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu manages to win the election in 2023.
