2023 Atiku Campaigns In Imo, Promises Restructuring, Revival

Ahead of next year’s general elections, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has assured the people of the South-East of his commitment to the revival of businesses in the region which will create jobs while restructuring the country. 

Atiku also stated that he and his team have agreed to set aside $10billion to empower young men and women in businesses.

The PDP presidential candidate made these promises during the Imo State presidential campaign in Owerri the state capital on Saturday.

Atiku said, ‘I know that you are businessmen, I know that you are traders, and so forth. I want to assure you that If I have the opportunity and you vote me business trading will pick up again, because in my policy document I said I am going to set aside $10 billion just to empower women and young men in business.

‘I know the entire South-East is yearning for the restructuring of the country and it is one of the five items of powers you want and the resources you want, we will work with the national assembly to make sure powers are devolved to the federating units

There will be absolutely no need for any young man or woman not to have something to do, we will provide jobs, if you don’t want jobs we will provide businesses for you, we will provide an environment where business is on the agenda, we will sit down with every part of this country whatever devolution will thrive’.

The former vice-president further stated that the PDP had done so much in its years in power that led to growth and development, adding that the people had no reason to vote the APC again.

‘The PDP witnessed the greatest growth during its years. We shall repeat it and even surpass what we did when we were in government. I assure you that and that I swear to God that we are capable of doing it again. The people of Imo you and the southeast you have absolutely no reason to vote any other party other than PDP.’

Earlier the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, urged the people of Imo State not to allow division in the party, calling on all to work together to produce victory and work to produce the president come February 2023.
