Lagos Polls God Forbid Tinubu Becomes President – Ezekwesili

Dr. Oby Ezekwesili who is a former minister of Education has decried the activities of thugs in the ongoing governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections, particularly in Lagos State lambasting the leadership of the APC in the state. 

Africa Today News, New York reports that the 2023 Lagos State gubernatorial election was marred by highly level of violence and intimidation and the former minister is concerned this could be a new normal in the administration of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who was declared president-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Ezekwesili, who has served Nigeria in different capacities, is concerned that Nigerians may witness more reckless and total disregard of rule of law if Tinubu becomes President.

‘The mayhem @officialABAT and his criminal enterprise gang unleashed in Lagos today against innocent citizens is what he wants to assume the Office of President and scale to the rest of Nigeria in the name of ‘controlling the Center?’

Africa Today News, New York reports that yesterday’s elections have been alleged to have to have been very violent in several parts of the country.

In another report, the Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has lashed out at the Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate, Peter Obi accusing him of making inflammatory comments.

In a statement on Friday which was made available to newsmen, the ruling party knocked the former Anambra governor for repeatedly condemning the victory of Presidential-elect, Bola Tinubu.

The Director of Media and Publicity, APC PCC, Bayo Onanuga made this assertion while responding to some comments Obi made during recent interviews on television stations.

‘The defeated Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi still goes around inflaming passions,’ the spokesperson lamented.

Onanuga said Obi has been spreading lies as if he is still campaigning for the highest office in the land, weeks after the exercise was concluded and a winner announced.
