PDP Determined To Recover All Stolen Mandates – Anyanwu
Sen. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State who also doubles as the National Secretary of the PDP, Sen. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has described the Supreme Court judgement on Osun State as a victory for democracy, pointing out that in like manner, PDP will recover all its lost mandates from the court.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ikenna Onuoha which was sent to Africa Today News, New York on Wednesday, Anyanwu asserted that the unpopular APC administration thinks that the only way to retain power is to manipulate the election processes.

He went on to add that following the innovations in the 2022 electoral Act such as the introduction of BVAS for accreditation and transmission of election results from polling units in real time is helping to checkmate their fraudulent activities.

While congratulating Governor Adeleke and the people of Osun State, Anyanwu, therefore enjoined the judiciary to continue to dispense justice without fear or favour in order to sustain democracy in Nigeria.

Africa Today News, New York recalls that the apex court had earlier affirmed the March 25 judgment of the Court of Appeal in Abuja which earlier upheld Adeleke’s victory.

The Appeal Court had, in its judgement, set aside an earlier judgment by the Osun Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which held in favour of Oyetola and sacked Adeleke.

Meanwhile, Festus Keyamo who is the spokesman for the recently dissolved All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council had earlier lambasted the opposition Party over what he described as trying to bait the judiciary ahead of Monday’s hearing at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The development is coming hours after the PDP accused the ruling party of making frantic moves to influence the panel’s outcome.
