Andrew Tate, the controversial influencer, has been granted temporary freedom following a period of house arrest in Romania, while he awaits trial on charges of rape and human trafficking.
Andrew and Tristan were taken into custody in March and later indicted in June; however, both maintain their innocence regarding the charges.
As of now, the brothers enjoy unrestricted movement within Bucharest and the neighboring Ilfov district, where they reside.
As part of the conditions for their release, Andrew and Tristan are required to comply with police orders and promptly report to the authorities when summoned. Additionally, they must inform the police of any change of address during this period.
In addition, they are prohibited from any contact with the two Romanian associates accused alongside them, the witnesses, or the alleged victims, their families.
Should they fail to abide by these guidelines, they may be subject to a return to house arrest or preventative detention, and a judge will oversee their compliance with these terms over the next 60 days.
‘We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Romanian judicial system for their fair consideration,’ a spokesperson for the brothers said in a statement after the ruling.

Initially arrested at their residence in December, the brothers were subsequently placed under house arrest after three months.
The indictment alleges that they, in alliance with two female Romanian associates, conspired to create an organised criminal group in 2021, aimed at perpetrating human trafficking in Romania, as well as internationally in countries like the US and the UK.
The indictment identifies seven alleged victims who were reportedly recruited by the Tate brothers through deceitful assurances of love and marriage.

Andrew Tate’s online prominence came with its share of controversy, which led to a Twitter ban due to his remarks suggesting that women should ‘assume some responsibility’ for sexual assault. However, he has since had his account reinstated.
