Killer Of Rivers DPO Bako Declared Wanted By IGP

Gift David Okpara, known as ‘2baba,’ has been officially declared a wanted individual by Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, who has identified him as a key suspect in the homicide of SP Bako Angbashim, a Divisional Police Officer in Rivers State.

It’s worth remembering that SP Bako Angbashim, who held the position of Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ahoada, Rivers State, was subjected to a deadly ambush and capture by armed individuals who professed allegiance to the Iceland cult gang, ultimately resulting in his demise.

The tragic incident occurred within Odumude community, situated in the Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state, as the late Divisional Police Officer (DPO) was returning from a mission to root out criminal hideouts alongside several of his officers.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) announced in a statement posted by the Rivers State Police Command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Emeka Nwonyi, instructing the directive’s immediate implementation.

In the release, which featured an image of the individual (2 Baba), his charges were documented as ‘conspiracy, cultism, and murder.’

The statement, which also contained some mobile numbers, added: ‘Handsome reward awaits any person(s) with information leading to his arrest.’

The incident led Governor, Fubara to indefinitely suspend Eze Igbu Akoh II, a traditional leader in the area. Fubara levelled accusations against Eze Igbu Akoh II, claiming that he had relinquished authority over his territory to David Gift and his notorious gang, which enabled them to carry out criminal activities with impunity.
