Yamal’s Family Requesting Privileges At Barça

Yamal’s Family Requesting Privileges At Barça

Reports have emerged that Lamine Yamal’s father has been making increasing “special demands” to FC Barcelona as the young star’s profile rises. According to football investigative outlets, among the alleged requests are the use of private jets, special photo opportunities, and other favours — privileges said to reflect the family’s growing influence around the player. The club is claimed to comply often, in part to avoid conflict or upsetting a player with star potential.

One report by Tribuna.com citing Romain Molina states that since Yamal’s breakthrough, his father has pushed for more recognition for the winger in his Ballon d’Or campaign. The same article suggests many of the other demands are perceived by some inside Barcelona’s dressing room as excessive. It remains unclear, however, how many of these requests have been formally lodged or approved.

Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, has publicly acknowledged that Yamal is receiving what he called “special treatment” in contract negotiations, commenting that the player’s compensation should match his performance — not merely his age. This has added fuel to discussions about whether the labelling of “special treatment” refers to privileges beyond standard terms given to rising stars.

However, direct evidence supporting some specific claims — such as consistent requests for private jets or exclusive photo shoots — is currently sparse and based on unconfirmed sources. Some of the allegations come via social media or secondary reporting and have not been substantiated with documentation.

While rising stars demanding more (in terms of financial or non-financial perks) is not uncommon in elite football, it often ignites debate about balance — between ensuring a young player feels valued, and maintaining squad harmony.

It’s possible that Barcelona, valuing Yamal’s talent highly and wanting him to stay, has acquiesced to some requests. But until more firm evidence emerges, many of the more extravagant claims should be treated with caution.

Claims like these tend to linger in the football world, feeding narratives, media speculation, and sometimes internal friction — whether or not all parts of them are fully true.
