Stormy Tides For Dagogo As Political Ambitions Slips Away

Farah Dagogo, a controversial politician from Rivers State who is well known in the South South region seems to be going through a tumultuous time in his political career as his hope of participating in the party primaries and clinching the position of one of the governorship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State appears to be uncertain.

This is  because the Rivers State High Court again adjourned his bail application to May 25 2022. The PDP has also fixed the same date for its governorship primaries.

When the parties arrived in court to argue the bail application, the trial judge, Justice Chiwendu Ngworgu, through the court clerk informed the parties that the court will not sit today and adjourned till the 25th of May.

With the latest development, the hope of Dagogo taking part in the primaries has been dimmed.

He had earlier missed the screening of governorship aspirants following his arrest on the eve of the exercise in Port Harcourt.

Dagogo, who is the member representing Degema-Bonny Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, is facing two counts of felony with conspiracy and cultism.

Mr. Ibrahim Lawal, media aide to embattled governorship aspirant has also alleged fresh plot to illegally amend the charges levelled again the latter.

Lawal said Governor Nyesom Wike and the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor, were behind the plot.

Lawal disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt and sent to our correspondent on Tuesday.

He said, “The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike; his Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Zacchaeus Adangor; and others earlier today, May 17th, 2022, outside court sessions, plotted to illegally amend charges already preferred on Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, PDP Governorship aspirant in Rivers State and Member Representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

“Recall that the case before the court had been adjourned to Friday, May 20th, 2022.

“Governor Wike and Adangor, SAN, both supposed lawyers and who are expected to act within the modicum of their profession and with sterling references owing to their current stations, are instead emboldened to continue with the brazen rape on the country’s judiciary .

“Having seen to the successful Judicial coup d’etat of May 13th, 2022, when a case earlier adjourned to May 16th was brought forward to that day without notifying the defendant (Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo) nor his legal team.
