The greater percentage of the Nigerian children lack every necessary thing it takes to be a child, and to experience childhood.
From toys, good playground, chocolates, care of the parents and guardians, and even basic necessities of life.
Most of these kids engage in child labour, just to help carter for the family, and automatically turning to adults as kids.
Failure of leadership and religion in Nigeria are some of the greatest contributors to the deprivation that our kids suffer.
The number of out of school children in Nigeria has risen astronomically, instead of decreasing.
Most primary and secondary school classrooms in many parts of Nigeria are nothing compared to a pen where poultry are reared; yet we expect to raise leaders of tomorrow in an environment where animals can’t even thrive.

In northern part of Nigeria, the Almajiri system is a serious impediment to childhood, as kids as young as 6 years are settled with plates, then taken to the streets to fend for themselves.
They strive to survive under the scorching sun of the dry season, and are drenched in rain during the rainy season; while scavenging even the refuse dumps to find food for their little stomachs.
Kids as young as 8 years old are married out as child brides to men old enough enough to be their grandfathers under the guise of religion.
They end up having Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF), as their reproductive systems are not yet matured to handle what they are being subjected to.
Average Nigerian kids are seen every corner of the road, in every traffic and highways, hustling and hawking things to make ends meet, while the children of the politicians schools outside the country.
The future of most Nigerian children are bleak!
