Dr Ben Carson

 

The United States Embassy for Nigeria, today honoured renowned neuroscientist and neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson on their verified Facebook page.

They praised him for his contributions towards the study of science and how his works have benefited humankind all over the globe. They also praised him for being a sterling example of an upright black man.

Ben Carson is a retired American neurosurgeon, author, and politician. Ben Carson rose from humble beginnings to become a pediatric neurosurgeon. He became director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital at age 33 and earned fame for his groundbreaking work separating conjoined twins.

He is the 17th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Ben Carson has received more than 60 honorary doctorate degrees, dozens of national merit citations, and written over 100 neurosurgical publications. In 2008, he was bestowed the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States.
