Coronavirus Death Toll Rises In U.S, Spain
Forty-eight more people died in the United States of coronavirus on Saturday, taking the national death toll to 348, sixth to China, Italy, Spain, Iran and France.

U.S. confirmed cases are now 26,900, after 2,693 new infections were recorded overnight.

In Spain, 344 new deaths were recorded. The total death tally is now 1,725, with new infections of 3,076 also recorded.

Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez warned on Saturday that “the worst is yet to come” after the national coronavirus toll surpassed 1,300 deaths and 25,000 cases.

Spain’s confirmed cases have now jumped to 28,572, second to Italy with 53,578 cases.

The second-worst hit country in Europe has shown no sign of slowing as the intensive care units are filling up in some hospitals.

“We have yet to receive the impact of the strongest, most damaging wave, which will test our material and moral capacities to the limit, as well as our spirit as a society,” Sanchez told a news briefing.

The raging virus has now infected 315, 092 people worldwide, with 13,581 deaths. Italy, the worst hit after China, has 4825 deaths. China has 3,261, Iran 1,685 and France 562.
