The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings, which were originally scheduled to take place on Monday and Tuesday, by one week.

In an official statement released in Abuja, the National Secretary of the APC, Iyiola Omisore, confirmed that the party’s National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings have been rescheduled to July 18 and 19.

‘Members of the National Caucus and National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress are hereby informed that our meetings of 10th and 11th of July, 2023, have been postponed to the 18th and 19th of July, 2023, respectively,’ the note reads.

The APC’s National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore, clarified that the decision to shift the meeting dates was made as a mark of respect and recognition for President Bola Tinubu, who was elected as the new Chairman of ECOWAS.

Omisore further explained that the decision to reschedule the meetings was made to show respect and honor to President Bola Tinubu, who was recently elected as the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau.

The chairmanship of ECOWAS is a position of great importance and responsibility, with the role being assigned to one of the heads of state or government of member countries on a rotational basis for a period of one year.

The Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee has called for a meeting with the Chairmen of APC State chapters, scheduled to take place on Monday at 1:00 pm at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The former Nasarawa governor aims to update the state leaders on the party’s nominees for statutory and ad-hoc committees, presenting them with the necessary information before they are officially presented to NEC for approval.

The information, corroborated by a credible source at the national secretariat, affirms that the presentation of nominations for the National Advisory Council is in accordance with Article 13.2 of the party Constitution.
